One of the many misconceptions about link building is that all links are created equal.  They’re not all created equal, as these link building tips show to be true:

• Authority sites tend to get linked to by authority sites, plain and simple.
• Authority sites also link OUT to authority sites.

When you’re doing your link building you should remember that selfish websites owners who don’t link outwardly are not seen as being truly authoritative.  Look at WikiPedia, all it does is link out to resources from human-created content.
